MARCH 2011 SSWRC EVENTS

ATTENTION: NAMI MONTGOMERY COUNTY is organizing an ADVOCACY COALITION, STANDING TOGETHER, ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 23. SILVER SPRING WELLNESS & RECOVERY CENTER will be one of the sponsoring groups. This is an advocacy effort to let the county know we cannot afford any more mental health budget cuts! WE NEED YOUR HELP in this event! TUES MARCH 1: Open 3 - 7p writing letters to Senators and Delegates as a follow up from Action Annapolis - in SUPPORT of HB (House Bill) 1150 and SB (Senate Bill) 556! (Trauma informed care, patient safety) and, don't forget, "10 cents makes sense!"


WED MARCH 2: Open 3 - 7p LETTERS TO THE GOVERNOR relating to no more budget cuts!

FRI MARCH 4: "CYCLES" curated by Adam Griffiths, celebrates the work from last December's Artist Residency, featuring work by a group of young artists, in partnership with Marcie Wolf-Hubbard, resident artist; Pyramid Atlantic, for providing the art space; Celia Serkin, from Montgomery County Federation for Families and Children's Mental Health; and Silver Spring Wellness & Recovery Center at Affiliated Sante Group. Music by David Hubbard & Bob Lash of Sky High Radio! Held at Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Ave., Takoma Park, MD. From 6 to 8p.
