You will be washing and chopping fruit to blend in our blender, and of course you'll be sampling some yummy banana/strawberry/apple and whatever's on sale smoothies! (Note: we ended up instead sampling Takoma Park Farmers' Market produce, mostly from Twinspring Fruit Farms and Takoma Kitchen donations! So delicious!)

Monday August 25: Open 3 - 7 p CANCELLED - Intro to Healthy Eating for People with Diabetes Instead, wonderful Farmers' Market produce (peaches, apples, tomatoes from Takoma Farmers' Market, with generous donations from Twinspring Fruit Farms and other vendors) as well as Cantaloupes and more peaches and plums. Crossroads Farmers' Market sends Director Michelle Dudley to talk about their Fresh Check program at 5 p. Their Langley Park Wednesday Farmers Market accepts Food Stamps and FMNP and WIC coupons; Food Stamps are matched up to $10 once a week, as part of a grant by Watermelon Growers Association. (a new drop-in center) We plan to leave here around 12:30 p at the latest, and take Metro to Florida Avenue/Gallaudet station, and walk about 4 blocks There will be a cookout there too! visit www.idamaecampbell.org/ for info! The CENTER WILL PROBABLY BE CLOSED during the field trip. We would return by 6 pm (those who want to leave earlier or later can of course do so!)
